Success for Queens spin-out at RSC Emerging Technologies Competition 2017

13/06/2017

Queens spinout company, Green Lizard Technologies, scooped a top spot and £10,000 in the Royal Society of Chemistry's flagship industry event, Chemistry Means Business.

The company was selected by a panel of expert judges after pitching their idea in the "Food & Drink" category in front of a live audience, at Chemistry Means Business on 13 June 2017.

The team are developing a novel, vitamin-based technology for the purification of vegetable oils. The technology reduces various impurities and eliminates carcinogenic compounds such as 3-MCPD. The vitamin can be regenerated and reused in further oil purification and contributes to significant reductions in process intensity and provides safety and security for consumers.
