Like nowhere else
Queen’s has a vibrant atmosphere across its beautiful leafy campus, set in a diverse, buzzing part of Belfast. Something is always happening and no two days are the same.
We like to think of ourselves as more than just a workplace. Our Bite of Queen's lunchtime tours showcase the great work being carried out across the campus, giving staff the opportunity to go behind the scenes in some of the University's great buildings, meet the staff and learn about the work that they do.
A relaxed environment
You won’t be short of places to eat and drink. On top of our own coffee shops on campus, there are numerous cafes and restaurants nearby.
Members of staff are automatic members of the library at Queen's, with its thousands of books and artefacts. You’ll also get discount at the QFT, our very own independent cinema.
Health and wellbeing
We take staff health seriously and we have great sporting facilities which are second to none.
Queen's Sport is on the doorstep of the main campus and staff get reduced membership rates. We also organise a 5km ParkRun every Saturday and operate a Cycle + Scheme.
Promoting equality and excellence
At Queen’s we seek to ensure all individuals are treated fairly and with “dignity and respect."
Our Gender Initiative provides a channel for women’s views to come to the fore. We have been recognised by Athena Swan as a "national leader in gender-equitable employment practices" and are of course committed to supporting staff with disabilities.
We believe in work-life balance and have been recognised at the Family Friendly Employer Awards for our flexible work policy and generous leave for new parents.
Our Career Break Scheme allows staff a break from work to travel, to undergo training or to carry out other work or research. We are committed to providing staff with opportunities to learn throughout their career, to help with their personal and career development.
