Professor Chris Elliott
Chris is Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences and a world authority on food safety.
In 2013, he was appointed by the UK Government to lead an independent review of Britain’s food system.
Students who make a difference
Diane Murdock, MEng Computer Science
A school rep for EEECS and student Chair of the Staff Student Consultative Committee, Diane won an Education Award for the Best Staff Student Consultative Committee of the Year.
She also won a Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship, an internationally recognised award in IT, last summer – a first for Queen’s and for Northern Ireland.
Better known as Radio 1's Annie Mac, she has been at the forefront of new music for over a decade, and has hosted BBC Radio 1's new music show since 2015.
A Queen's graduate in his own right, Heaney was honoured in 1982. Regarded as one of the most recongisable poets in the world, he won a Nobel Prize in 1995.
