International Office Postgraduate Research Scholarship

The International Office Postgraduate Research scholarship is awarded to international fee rate paying students beginning their full time studies at Queen's University Belfast in September 2017 - View international tuition fees

About the Award

All new international students beginning their first year of full-time postgraduate research study at Queen's University Belfast in September 2017 who meet the conditions of the academic offer will receive an International Office scholarship. Exclusions apply, please see below for more details.

This scholarship is awarded in the first year of study only and would be deducted from tuition fees.

Students are not required to submit an application to be considered for this scholarship. For more information please see below.

Eligibility

  1. Students must be classified as international fee paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this scheme. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for international scholarships.
  2. Students must hold an offer of a place on a full-time postgraduate research programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2017-18 and meet any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter.  
  3. Students studying on a part-time basis  or on distance learning programmes are not eligible for these scholarships.

Exclusions

  1. External PhD programmes where students only undertake part of their research at Queen’s University.
  2. Higher Doctorates - Doctor of Divinity (DD), Doctor of Laws (LLD), Doctor of Letters (DLitt), Doctor of Science (DSc), Doctor of Science (Economics) (DSc(Econ)), Doctor of Science, (Education) (DSc(Ed)) and Doctor of Social Science (DSSc)
  3. PhD programmes by Published Works

Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship

A full fee scholarship will be awarded to an exceptionally talented international student who will be starting their full-time postgraduate research programme at Queen’s University Belfast in September 2017 - View international tuition fees

About the Award

All new International applicants holding an offer for a place on a full-time postgraduate research programme starting in September 2017 have the opportunity to apply for the Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship. Exclusions apply, please see below for more details.

This scholarship is awarded each year for up to three years

Amount

Full tuition fees paid for all years of programme, up to a maximum of three years.

Please follow this link to the application form. Please note that you MUST use the 8-digit  application number found on your offer letter from Queen's University Belfast. Invalid application numbers will not be considered.  The deadline for application is 23.59 GMT on 15 May 2017. 

Queen's Loyalty scholarship

Queen's University alumni returning for full-time postgraduate research study and Exchange /Study Abroad students progressing to a full-time postgraduate research programme will be offered a scholarship of 20% off tuition fees - View  international tuition fees

About the Award

Queen's University Belfast alumni returning for  full-time postgraduate research study. Exchange and Study Abroad students progressing to a full-time postgraduate research programme are also eligible.

This scholarship is awarded in the first year of study only and is to be deducted from tuition fees.

  4. You must have previously studied at Queen's University Belfast.

Early Bird Reward

10% discount on gross fees exclusively for new students holding an unconditional offer  and who pay fees in full, by 30 June 2017. May be used in conjunction with other scholarships - View international tuition fees

About the Award

A 10% reduction is available to new international students beginning a full time course in September 2017 who have paid their tuition fees in full by 30 June 2017.

This scholarship is awarded for the first year only, and is to be deducted from tuition fees.

Students are not required to submit an application to be considered for this scholarship. For more information please see below.

Eligibility

  1. Students must be classified as international students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this scheme. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for international scholarships.
  2. International scholarships cannot be used in conjunction with any other scholarship. Students can however use their scholarship in conjunction with the Early-Bird reward discount.  
  3. Students studying on a part-time basis, or on foundation degrees or distance learning programmes are not eligible for these scholarships.
  4. This discount is applicable only for new students  holding an unconditional offer and who pay 90% of their tuition fees, by  30 June 2017

Exclusions

  1. Non-standard fee courses, including Medicine, Dentistry, Agricultural Technology and Theology
  2. All Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses.

10% tuition fee discount on year 1

How to Apply

No application necessary, automatically awarded to those who meet the criteria. Students are required to pay 90% of their tuition fee by 30 June to be eligible for this award.

For example:
Fee rate 1 UG:  £15100 with 10% discount = £13590 payable
Fee rate 2 PG: £19000 with 10% discount = £17100 payable

When 90% payment has been made by 30 June 2017, please email international@qub.ac.uk to enable us to verifiy your payment.
