The International Office Postgraduate Research scholarship is awarded to international fee rate paying students beginning their full time studies at Queen's University Belfast in 2018-19 - View international tuition fees

Award value

Year one award of £2500 (fee rate 1) or £3000 (fee rate 2).

About the Award

All new International students beginning their first year of full-time postgraduate research study in Queen's University Belfast in September 2018 who meet the conditions of their academic offer will receive an International Office Postgraduate Research Scholarship. No application is necessary.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Students must hold an offer for a place on a full-time postgraduate research programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2018-19 and meet any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter
    Exclusions apply – see point 9 below
  2. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the International Office Postgraduate Research Scholarship.
  3. The discount is awarded for the first year of study only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees upon enrolment.
  4. Students must register on their degree programme by the start date outlined in their offer.
  5. Scholarships may not be deferred to the following academic year.
  6. Students must be self-funded.
  7. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students benefiting from these arrangements will not be eligible for the Queen’s Postgraduate Research Scholarship.
  8. Students in receipt of full funding from external sponsorship bodies will not be eligible for the Queen’s Postgraduate Research Scholarship.
  9. The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the International Office Postgraduate Research Scholarship:
    > Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology,
    > ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes.
    > External PhD programmes where students only undertake part of their research at Queen’s University.
    > Higher Doctorates - Doctor of Divinity (DD), Doctor of Laws (LLD), Doctor of Letters (DLitt), Doctor of Science (DSc), Doctor of Science (Economics) (DSc(Econ)), Doctor of Science, (Education) (DSc(Ed)) and Doctor of Social Science (DSSc)
    > PhD programmes by Published Works
  10. Students must request authorisation from the International Office before making any changes to their programme of study. Where changes are made without authorisation being granted, the scholarship may be withdrawn and students may be required to repay the scholarship in full.
  11. In the event that a student has received scholarship offers for a number of different programmes at Queen’s University, they will only be able to redeem one scholarship award. This will be the scholarship award for the course onto which they enrol in the 2018-19 academic year.
  12. International scholarships cannot be used in conjunction with any other University scholarship. Students can however use their scholarship in conjunction with the Early-Bird reward discount

Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship

A full fee scholarship will be awarded to an exceptionally talented international student who will be starting their full-time postgraduate research programme at Queen’s University Belfast in 2018-19  - View international tuition fees

Award value

Full tuition fees paid for all years of programme, up to a maximum of three years.

About the Award

All new International applicants holding an offer for a place on a full-time postgraduate research programme starting in 2018-19 have the opportunity to apply for the Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship. Exclusions apply, please see below for more details.

  1. Students must be classified as international fee paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this scheme. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for international scholarships.
  2. Students must hold an offer of a place on a full-time postgraduate research programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2018-19 and meet any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter.  
  3. Students studying on a part-time basis  or on distance learning programmes are not eligible for these scholarships.

Queen's Loyalty scholarship

Queen's University alumni returning for full-time postgraduate research study and Exchange /Study Abroad students progressing to a full-time postgraduate research programme will be offered a scholarship of 20% off tuition fees - View  international tuition fees

About the Award

The Queen’s Loyalty Scholarship is a 20% reduction on first year gross tuition fees available to Queen’s University alumni paying International tuition rates returning for a full duration postgraduate programme in the academic year 2018/19. Terms and conditions apply.

  1. Students must hold an offer of a place on a full-time and complete duration programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2018-19 and meet any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter.

  2. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Queen’s Loyalty Scholarship.
  3. Students must complete an application form via the Queen’s University Belfast website to verify their previous programme of study.
  4. The discount is awarded for the first year of study only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees upon enrolment.

Queen's Family Scholarship

For children, sisters and brothers of Queen’s alumni and current students beginning a full duration course at Queen’s University Belfast. Exclusions apply.

About the award

The Queen’s Family Scholarship is a 20% reduction on first year gross tuition fees available to children, sisters and brothers of Queen’s alumni and current students beginning a full duration course in September 2018 who pay International fee rates. Terms and conditions apply.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. The Queen’s Family Scholarship is exclusively available to new international students beginning a full duration postgraduate programme at the Queen's University Belfast campus in the academic year 2018/19. Exclusions apply – see point 11 below.
  2. The Queen’s Family Scholarship is available to children and siblings of current Queen’s University Belfast or Queen’s University Belfast Alumni. Step children and step siblings will also be eligible subject to point 5 below.
  3. The scholarship may only be claimed by students whose sibling or parent is currently pursuing, or has already completed, a full duration* undergraduate or postgraduate programme at Queen's University Belfast. (*All years of programme must be completed at Queen’s University Belfast).
  4. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship
  5. Students must complete an application form via the Queen’s University Belfast website to claim the Scholarship.
  6. Students wishing to avail of the Queen’s Family Scholarship may be required to provide additional verification of their relationship to the current Queen’s University Belfast student or Queen’s University Belfast Alumni through whom they are claiming the Scholarship.
  7. The discount is awarded for the first year only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees.
  8. Students must be self-funded.
  9. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students benefiting from these arrangements will not be eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship.

Early Bird Reward

10% discount on gross fees exclusively for new students holding an unconditional offer  and who pay fees in full, by 30 June 2018. May be used in conjunction with other scholarships - View international tuition fees

10% discount on year 1. 10% discount on gross fees - may be used in conjunction with other scholarships.

About the Award

A 10% reduction is available to new international students beginning a full time course in September 2018 who have both met the conditions of their offer and paid 90% of gross tuition fees by the stipulated deadline.

Terms and Conditions

1. The Early Bird Reward discount is exclusively available to new international students beginning a full-time course in September 2018. Exclusions apply – see point 9 below.

2. Students must hold an unconditional offer of a place on a full-time programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus starting in the academic year 2018-19. The following deadlines apply:

    • Undergraduate students must pay 90% of their Year 1 fees by 30 June, or within 5 days* of their offer becoming unconditional; and not later than 23.59 GMT on 22 August 2018 to avail of the discount, subject to T&Cs. *This is to prevent delays in CAS issuance during the peak period.
    • Postgraduate students must pay 90% of their Year 1 fees by 23.59 GMT on 30 June 2018 to avail of the discount, subject to T&Cs.

3. Students wishing to avail of the Early Bird Reward discount must email proof of transfer to internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk.

4. The discount is awarded for the first year only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees.

5. The EBR may be used in conjunction with other International Office scholarships, namely: International Office Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught & Postgraduate Research Scholarships; Queen’s Family Scholarship. EBR may also be used in conjunction with CQC scholarships.

6. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Early Bird Reward discount.

7. Students must be self-funded.

8. Students in receipt of full funding from external sponsorship bodies will not be eligible for the Early Bird Reward discount.

9. Students who benefit from partnership agreements should contact the International Office via internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk to check their eligibility.

CQC Queen’s Scholarship

The CQC Queen's Scholar Award will be offered to four CQC students beginning their full time Postgraduate Research programme at Queen's University Belfast in 2018-19.

Award value

£9,000 total award per student (£3,000 discount on tuition fees per year, up to a maximum of three years)

About the Award

The CQC Queen’s Scholarship of £9,000, is awarded as a £3,000 reduction on gross tuition fees each year, up to a maximum of three years. There will be four CQC Queen’s Scholarships awarded to CQC students who are progressing to a Postgraduate Research programme at Queen’s University Belfast in 2018/19. Terms and conditions apply.

Terms and Conditions

1. Candidates must return a completed CQC Queen’s Scholarship application form by 4.00 p.m. (GMT) on Friday 1 June 2018.

2. Candidates must hold and have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time Postgraduate Research programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2018-19 and meet any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter.

3. There will be four CQC Queen’s Scholarships, which will be awarded based on a student’s final aggregate mark from their BSc degree.

4. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount.

5. Students must register on their Postgraduate Research programme by the start date outlined in their offer.

6. The £3,000 discount is awarded for each year of study, up to a maximum of three years, and is deducted from gross tuition fees upon enrolment.

7. Scholarships may not be deferred to the following academic year.

8. Students must be self-funded.
