International Office Undergraduate Scholarship

The International Office Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded to international fee rate students beginning their full-time studies at Queen's University Belfast in September 2018 - International tuition fees

About the Award

All new  international students beginning their first year of full-time undergraduate study in Queen's University Belfast in September 2018 who meet the conditions of their academic offer will receive an International Office Undergraduate Scholarship. Exclusions apply, please see below for more details.

This scholarship is awarded in the first year of study only and would be deducted from tuition fees.

Students are not required to submit an application to be considered for this scholarship. For more information please see below.

Eligibility

  1. Students must be classified as international students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this scheme. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for international scholarships.
  2. Students must hold an offer for a place on a full-time undergraduate programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2018-19 and meet any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter. 
  3. Students studying on a part-time basis, on foundation degrees or distance learning programmes are not eligible for these scholarships.


Specific Exceptions

Non-standard fee courses, including Medicine, Dentistry, Agricultural Technology and Theology

All Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses.

Year one award of £2500 (fee rate 1) or £3000 (fee rate 2)

Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship

Two full fee  scholarships are available to exceptionally talented international students who will be starting their full-time undergraduate studies at Queen’s University Belfast in September 2018 - International tuition fees

About the Award

All new International applicants holding an offer for a place on a full-time undergraduate programme starting in September 2018 have the opportunity to apply for the Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship. Exclusions apply, please see below for more details.

This scholarship is awarded each year for up to four years and would be deducted from tuition fees.

Amount

Full tuition fees paid for all years of programme, up to a maximum of four years.

Please follow this link to the application form. Please note that you MUST use the 8-digit  application number found on your offer letter from Queen's University Belfast. Invalid application numbers will not be considered.  The deadline for application is 23.59 GMT on 8 June 2018.

Queen's Loyalty scholarship

Exchange and Study Abroad international students returning for  full-time undergraduate study will be offered a scholarship of 20% off tuition fees - International tuition fees

About the Award

Exchange and Study Abroad students returning to study a full-time undergraduate programme at Queen's University Belfast.

This scholarship is awarded in the first year of study only and would be deducted from tuition fees.

  4. You must have previously studied at Queen's University Belfast.

Early Bird Reward

10% discount on gross fees exclusively for new students holding an unconditional offer and who pay fees in full, by 30 June 2018. May be used in conjunction with other scholarships - International tuition fees

About the Award

A 10% reduction is available to new international students beginning a full time course in September 2018 who have both met the conditions of their offer and paid 90% of gross tuition fees by the stipulated deadline.

Terms and Conditions

1. The Early Bird Reward discount is exclusively available to new international students beginning a full-time course in September 2018. Exclusions apply – see point 10 below.

2. Students must hold an unconditional offer of a place on a full-time programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus starting in the academic year 2018-19. The following deadlines apply:

    • Undergraduate students must pay 90% of their Year 1 fees by 30 June, or within 5 days* of their offer becoming unconditional; and not later than 23.59 GMT on 22 August 2018 to avail of the discount, subject to T&Cs. *This is to prevent delays in CAS issuance during the peak period.
    • Postgraduate students must pay 90% of their Year 1 fees by 23.59 GMT on 30 June 2018 to avail of the discount, subject to T&Cs.

3. Students wishing to avail of the Early Bird Reward discount must email proof of transfer to internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk.

4. The discount is awarded for the first year only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees.

5. The EBR may be used in conjunction with other International Office scholarships, namely: International Office Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught & Postgraduate Research Scholarships; Loyalty Scholarship; Queen’s Family Scholarship. EBR may also be used in conjunction with CQC scholarships.

6. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students benefiting from these arrangements will not be eligible for the Early Bird Reward discount.

7. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Early Bird Reward discount.

8. Students must be self-funded.

9. Students in receipt of full funding from external sponsorship bodies will not be eligible for the Early Bird Reward discount.

10. The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the Early Bird Reward discount:

    • Undergraduate: Medicine, Dentistry, Agricultural Technology, Theology
    • Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology, All Queen's Management Postgraduate Taught programmes
    • ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes.
    • External PhD programmes where students only undertake part of their research at Queen’s University.
    • Higher Doctorates - Doctor of Divinity (DD), Doctor of Laws (LLD), Doctor of Letters (DLitt), Doctor of Science (DSc), Doctor of Science (Economics) (DSc(Econ)), Doctor of Science, (Education) (DSc(Ed)) and Doctor of Social Science (DSSc)
    • PhD programmes by Published Works

11. The University reserves the right to vary all or any scholarship awards, discounts and regulations at its sole discretion.

For example:

Fee rate 1 UG: £15500 with 10% discount = £13995 payable
Fee rate 2 PG: £19600 with 10% discount = £17640 payable
