This workshop aims to:

  1. Review the existing international research engagement/collaborations. Evaluate levels of activity, geographical breadth and alignment with identified priority research areas.
  2. Review the current challenges and opportunities in relation to the University’s international research engagement/collaborations/partnerships within the context of Vision 2020/Research Strategy/Internationalisation Strategy.
  3. Establish definitions, purpose and typology for international research partnerships/collaborations
  4. Develop an agreed framework within which the University and faculty can use to better manage its international research engagement/collaborations/partnerships. Deliverables to include:
    • A procedure for applying for and approving formal international research partnerships
    • A set of metrics which will be used to assess new and existing international research partnerships
    • A framework for evaluating and assessing on-going international research partnerships
