I’m passionate about sports and how they can be used to help transform societies after a conflict. At the Institute, I’ll be able to study conflict transformation with world-class instructors in the classroom while working directly with peace-driven sports organisations to help solve a real-world conflict outside of it.
International Student, Tokyo, Japan
I participated in the summer school and it was a life-changing experience. I met people that I couldn’t access in Japan and while spending the whole summer inside the library. I am interested in the political attitude of young generations in post-conflict societies, and now I am back here at the Institute to further investigate the topic
Student, Belfast, Northern Ireland
Social justice is at the core of my political beliefs and the opportunity to further explore these as a post graduate appealed to me. Growing up in Belfast and having an interest in politics, I want to be part of the generation that brings about change to our post conflict society. The Institute provided an opportunity to combine my two passions.
Mitchell Scholar, International Student, Germantown, USA
I chose this course because of its focus on interdisciplinarity and its comparative approach to conflict transformation and social justice. I’m interested in studying the role of women in social conflict in different countries – both their involvement in the conflict and the impact of the conflict on their well-being.
