Postgraduate Researchers are a vital part of the research environment of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS) at Queen’s. Our distinctive offering across a wide range of subjects and disciplines allows each student to define a bespoke research journey, to work within disciplines or in cross-disciplinary contexts, and to be mentored by academic supervisors who are world leaders in their respective fields.
Global Research Impact
The results of the 2014 Research Excellence Framework places Queen’s University eighth in the UK for research intensity. Over 75% of research activity at Queen’s was judged to be internationally-excellent or world leading. 14 of the individual areas of research assessed were ranked in the top 20 in the UK, with six of these in the top ten and two in the top five.

Scholarships for 2018 Entry
International Office Postgraduate Scholarship
All new International students beginning their first year of full-time postgraduate research study in Queen's University Belfast in September 2018 who meet the conditions of their academic offer will receive an International Office Postgraduate Research Scholarship:
Year one award of £2500 (fee rate 1) or £3000 (fee rate 2).
No application is necessary. Terms and conditions apply.
Students must hold an offer for a place on a full-time postgraduate research programme at the QUB campus, starting in the academic year 2018-19 and meet any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter.
Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount.
