Welcome to the WEB pages for the Division of Basic Medical Sciences / Physiology in the School of Medicine at Queen's University Belfast.
The unit is involved in teaching and research in the field of Physiology. There are three degree courses to honors standard: Anatomy (B.Sc.), Physiology (B.Sc.), and Biomedical Science (B.Sc.). It provides a basis for professional studies in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing and for science subjects (as an adjunct and introduction to degree programs such as Psychology, Biochemistry, Agriculture, Chemistry, etc.). Postgraduate courses by examination or by thesis and for postgraduate Medical and Dental students reading for Fellowship examinations are also available.

The Division is based on the Medical Biology Centre site in two areas; Anatomy in the Whitla Medical Building and Physiology In the Medical Biology Centre. The site is adjacent to the main part of the University in a campus which includes the Belfast City Hospital and the School of Pharmacy. The University has provided space for teaching, research and seminar rooms etc. See Teaching courses and Degrees for more information.
