WOMEN
MEMBERS OF IRISH CITY AND BOROUGH COUNCILS
This
page lists women members of Ireland's five city and
six borough councils, and gives a gender breakdown
of each council from the last election in 2004. Dublin City council enjoys
the best gender balance while Waterford and Galway's voters returned the
smallest percentage of women city councillors. Tables 2a
and 2b give information on borough councillors.
The Observatory also has lists of women county councillors from the Republic
of Ireland.
A list of resignations and co-options of women councillors
since the 2004 local elections (as at August 2008) is available here.
