Centre for Advancement of Women in Politics The Centre for Advancement of Women in Politics makes a number of visiting research fellowships available each year to persons wishing to contribute to its aims and work programme. Applicants will usually be full-time academics, or holders of postdoctoral positions, working in an area of interest to CAWP. Non-academics working in areas related to the aims of CAWP are also invited to apply for visiting fellowships. Candidates should have either a proven academic standing and appropriate achievement in research and scholarship, or have attained professional eminence in non-academic employment. The Visiting Fellowships will be held for at least the equivalent of one month during an academic year, with the possibility of an extended period of fellowship by agreement. Visiting Fellows will be expected to make a positive contribution to the aims of CAWP in addition to developing their own careers. Appointees are usually expected to be on paid leave from their employers, and will be required to cover travel and other out-of-pocket expenses arising directly from their stay. Fellows will be offered office accommodation with access to computer, internet, email, phone and fax facilities, along with access to the QUB library and sports centre. They will be expected to work with staff in CAWP and in the School of Politics and International Studies, and possibly with staff in other centres, schools and institutes of the University. Fellows will be expected to work on a specific project for the CAWP working papers series. Fellows will also be expected to disseminate their work in progress through the CAWP research seminar series. Prospective applicants should complete the Visiting Fellow application form, and submit it along with a letter of application and a curriculum vitae to Victoria Montgomery, Centre for Advancement of Women in Politics, School of Politics, International Studies and Philosophy, Queen's University Belfast, 21 University Square, Belfast BT7 1PA, Northern Ireland.
