Travelling to and from George Best Belfast City Airport

A taxi from George Best Belfast City Airport to the area around Queen's University will cost between £7.00 and £10.00.

It is easy to use public transport to travel between George Best Belfast City Airport and the conference location. Flexibus, part of the Translink group, operate the Airlink bus service every 20 minutes from the Airport terminal to the Belfast Europa Bus Centre adjacent to the Europa Hotel, in the heart of the city. The service, Flexibus route No. 600, operates beween 06:00 and 21:50, and costs £1.40 for a single journey. Upon arrival at the Belfast Europa Bus Centre walk through the Great Northern Mall to Great Victoria Street, cross the road and walk to the bus stop. A route 8b Metro bus will take you to Queen's University and the Queen's Elms Student Village and recommended B&B Accommodation. A single fare on a Metro bus is £1.40. Please note this service is NOT available on Sundays. The alternative is to walk (about 30 minutes to Queen's Elms), or sue a taxi (cost approximately £6 - £7), or take the Metro Bus 9C from Donegall Square East or Great Victoria Street to go along the Lisburn Road, and then walk up Adelaide Park or Windsor Park to the Queen's Elms Village (buses depart at 5 mins and 35 mins past the hour in the main part of the day.

Travelling to and from Belfast International Airport

Belfast International Airport is some distance from the City of Belfast. Taxi fares from Belfast International Airport to Queen's University can cost about £25.00.

Translink operate Airbus a service which operates between the Belfast International Airport and Belfast City Centre every 20 minutes, at peak times Monday to Friday, every 30 minutes on a Saturday and at 30 or 60 minute intervals on a Sunday. The service, Ulsterbus route No. 300, operates between 0535 hrs and 2320 hrs. The fare from the Airport to Belfast City Centre is £6.00 for a single journey or £9.00 for a return journey. Upon arrival at the Belfast Europa Bus Centre walk through the Great Northern Mall to Great Victoria Street, cross the road and walk to the bus stop. Dublin Airport (DUB)

Dublin Airport is situated approximately two hours from Belfast by road or rail, with regular and direct coach transfers running from the airport to Belfast city centre. There are 36 international daily flights operating into the airport, linking Dublin directly to many European and International cities.

Aircoach provides a luxury coach service that runs from Dublin Airport to Belfast city centre seven days a week on an hourly basis from 7am until  9pm. This service enables anyone flying in to Dublin to travel on to Belfast conveniently and comfortably. The duration of the journey is approximately two hours. The Aircoach stops outside the Jury's Inn Hotel in Belfast City Centre. From there it is a short walk to Great Victoria Street where you can take a 8b Metro bus or a taxi to the University district. Please note this service is NOT available on Sundays. The alternative is to walk (about 30 minutes to Queen's Elms), or sue a taxi (cost approximately £6 - £7), or take the Metro Bus 9C from Donegall Square East or Great Victoria Street to go along the Lisburn Road, and then walk up Adelaide Park or Windsor Park to the Queen's Elms Village (buses depart at 5 mins and 35 mins past the hour in the main part of the day.

Ulsterbus (service 200) & Bus Eireann (service 1) share the Belfast route with Aircoach and departures are 20 mins past every hour from Dublin and on the hour return from Belfast.

Delegates travelling into Dublin Airport can travel onwards to Belfast by rail on the Enterprise Service which departs from Connolly Station in central Dublin (see www.irishrail.ie for bookings). The current fares are 52 and 94 for 2nd and 1st class monthly returns respectively. As there is no direct rail link to Dublin Airport travellers should use a taxi and bus service to get to Connolly Railway Station. We recommend the Aircoach service for its convenience.
