The focus of this year’s Autumn School is 1916 and Diaspora.
Our morning speaker is Dr Patricia Craig who will speak on ‘A Twisted Root: Ancestral Entanglements in Ireland’.
An acclaimed literary critic and anthologist, Dr Craig is the editor of many anthologies including The Oxford Book of Ireland, The Ulster Anthology and Penguin Book of British Comic Stories.
In the afternoon Dr Johanne Devlin Trew and Prof Elizabeth Crooke, Ulster University, will introduce The Great War in Memory, Writing and Drama, featuring poetry and prose readings and drama performance from the Fermanagh Writers Group, the Omagh Robins WW1 Drama Group and others.
This event is hosted by The Mellon Centre for Migration Studies at the Ulster American Folk Park in collaboration with The Cavan Ireland 2016 Committee and Cavan Genealogy.
