Designed for: Staff interested in using the TurnitinUK Originality Checking Software to assist inthe detection of plagiarism of both online sources and other student assignments.
Content:
This workshop is designed to give an overview of the facilities of the TurnitinUK Originality Checking Software allowing participants the opportunity to set up assignments and view originality reports. The software compares electronic copies of student assignments with a range of online sources and also a bank of previously submitted student work. In this way it can detect text matches which might be due to plagiarism.
The course will also discuss how the tool may be used to illustrate the nature ofplagiarism to students with a view to preventing plagiarism.
Prerequisites: Familiarity with a Windows environment.
