Inviting your family to stay for more than six months
From 4 July 2011, if you are a postgraduate student who is studying a course of 12 months or longer, or you are a government sponsored student on a course of six months or longer, your partner and children can apply to come to the UK as student dependants. Your family member can find full information about applying as a student dependant on the UK Border Agency's website.
If your family member is unsure about any specific part of the application form, you should send through their query to iss@qub.ac.uk and our team will do our best to help them.
When your friend or family member decide they want to visit you, they should go to their nearest British Embassy/High Commission and details of application forms and guidance can be found at the UK Border Agency website.
