"Although we accept applications from anyone physically present in the United Kingdom, it is often difficult for applicants who are not permanent residents in the United Kingdom to demonstrate that they have sufficiently strong ties to a third country, as consular officers in London have no way of verifying or evaluating information from other countries. If you are a temporary resident of the United Kingdom, or are planning on travelling to the United Kingdom specifically to apply for a visa, you may wish to consider applying for a visa in your country of permanent residence where you will be best able to establish your qualifications for a visa."

You should provide evidence to prove that you have a residence abroad to which you intend to return at the end of your visit to the United States. This is generally established by evidence of family, professional, property, employment, study or other ties and commitments to a country other than the United States sufficient to cause you to return there at the conclusion of your visit. All Visaed passports will be returned by Secure Mail Services (SMS). On the day of the Visa Interview, you will be required to purchase an envelope for the return of your passport. The fee for this courier service starts at £10, payable either by Credit/Debit card or by cash. |
