Queen's named Best Green Business
The University has been named Best Green Business at the Belfast Business Awards 2012, organised by Belfast City Council in partnership with Belfast City Centre Management.
The judges praised the University’s corporate focus on sustainability and its implementation of a number of environmental policies, including the Carbon Management Plan. The very tangible results of these policies include: carbon reduction; waste minimisation and increased recycling; more staff and students using sustainable forms of transport; increased biodiversity across the campus; and the adoption of sustainability criteria in the refurbishment and design of buildings.
