Professional Subscriptions
The University does not bear the cost of any professional subscriptions on behalf of staff. However, staff may obtain tax relief for these subscriptions by applying directly to the Inland Revenue. This is clearly detailed in the University's Financial Procedures Manual.
This applies to all professional subscriptions, regardless of the source of funds - research, general or otherwise.
Subscriptions relating to institutional/corporate membership, for example, the Northern Ireland Universities Sports Committee or the Association of University Language Centres, may be charged to the University.
