Research Grants

It is imperative that you contact the Research Support Office as soon as you have received any correspondence from a sponsor regarding an application submitted for research funding. For many research proposals, such as Research Council awards, detailed contract review and negotiation will not be required. This is because standard, pre-agreed terms and conditions will apply to the research awards offered by such sponsors. However, for research grants being awarded by a sponsor where there is no standard, pre-agreed terms and conditions, careful review of the contractual provisions is required. The Research Support Office will provide professional lead in reviewing such contracts.
