On their return to work employees will meet with their Line Manager / Supervisor to complete the relevant documentation. Failure to follow the reporting and recording processes could potentially impact salary if the absence is incorrectly reported and recorded.
Line Manager / Supervisor
- Meets with the employee on their return to work and conducts a return to work interview (RTW). Details of the meeting are recorded on Part 2 of the Sickness Absence Form (SAF)
- The completed SAF and Statement of Fitness to Work (only required for absences totalling more than 7 consecutive days) are submitted to the Monitoring Officer
- On receipt of documentation from Line Manager / Supervisor the Monitoring Officer updates the online absence recording system and submits any Statement for Fitness to Work certificates to the Salaries Office.
Return to Work Interviews (RTW) are informal meetings and provide an opportunity for the Line Manager / Supervisor to discuss absence issues with the employee and to complete the relevant documentation
