Standard costs apply to the various categories of staff advertisements which are borne centrally by a University recruitment budget. However any costs above the standard are normally charged to the area concerned. Additional costs are normally incurred where a department chooses to use a large number of publications, requires a special display advert, requires a lengthy advertisement or requires a different day of publication. The standard costs are based on an allocation to cover the normal costs associated with advertising the various categories of posts in the type of media quoted. Costs are reviewed periodically.
