What is the Coaching for Success programme about?
The programme provides you with training to help you develop those skills and qualities essential to effective coaching such as listening, giving feedback, asking powerful questions and building rapport.
This is achieved via 3 modules covering among other elements: the foundations and key principles of coaching, managing a coaching conversation within a work context, coaching skills, tools and language, and coaching practice within a peer learning triad. After the programme, the ongoing development of coaching skills will be facilitated by regular coach development days.
Who is it for?
If you are keen to support colleagues, are a good listener, can remain non-judgemental and focus on the individual’s goals, then you are likely to have the qualities required to be a coach.
Initially the programme will be offered to staff at professional services grade 8 and above and academic grade AC 3 and above who would like to develop these skills and use them to support others through coaching conversations. Queen’s Coaches will participate in Coaching alongside their main job role, and do not need to have expertise in the work or discipline area of their ‘coachee’.
How will the programme help develop you?
Develops key communication skills in you such as listening, questioning and building rapport.Provides you with the opportunity to assist with developing skills in others such as, taking responsibility, decision making, and taking action.Helps you make a difference to how others approach their work, building confidence and motivation.Allows you to "give something back" to the organisation.

Carole has extensive coaching and leadership development experience across a number of sectors and is accredited as a Professional Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation.
