* Grading/Job Evaluation
This section aims to provide staff with information on the University’s pay, grading and reward arrangements.
The implementation of the National Framework Agreement has allowed all staff, with the exception of clinical academics, members of the professoriate, grade 10 staff and student employees, to be assimilated onto a single 53 point pay spine. Where staff have been placed on this new 9 grade pay structure, grading has been determined by a job matching process which has been underpinned by the analytical Hay Job Evaluation Methodology
As well as creating a new pay and grading structure the University has harmonised Terms and Conditions of Employment for all categories and grades of staff. The new arrangements have provided:
- improvements in remuneration for many staff
- the basis for the achievement of equal pay for work of equal value
- greater opportunities for salary progression
- a pay structure and terms and conditions that will support the University in recruiting, rewarding and developing staff at all levels
The University is committed to rewarding high levels of performance and contribution and this section also details the relevant processes and procedures for each category of staff.
