Advertising Process
The University normally expects to advertise all posts externally as well as placing all vacancies on its website: http://www.qub.ac.uk/jobs
Internal vacancies are advertised within Queen's Online: https://login.qol.qub.ac.uk/home/
The University's policy is to advertise all support posts (and some academic posts) in composite advertisements in the local press (e.g. Belfast Telegraph, Irish News, Newsletter).
Academic posts are advertised 'solus' (on their own) in a display advertisement or in a special composite together with other academic posts if appearing in the same publication. Increasingly academic posts are advertised in specialist websites and electronic publications. All academic and research posts are placed in www.jobs.ac.uk. They may also be placed in the national press (eg Guardian, THES, Irish Times) and appropriate specialist journals.
If all paperwork is received by Personnel by Tuesday at 12 noon the advert will appear in the local and/or national press the following week. Advertisements will also appear in the next issue of appropriate journals and specialist publications provided they meet the required approval deadline. Click here for Recruitment Checklist.
