Secretarial Skills Programmes 2010/11

Applications are invited for the Junior and Senior Secretarial Skills Programmes 2010/11.

The Junior Secretarial Skills Programme is designed for secretarial staff in grades 2 and 3 and helps staff gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide a professional secretarial service to teams or managers.

Junior staff who have previously completed the Junior Secretarial Skills Programme can also be considered for the Senior Secretarial Skills Programme.

The Senior Secretarial Skills Programme is for those secretarial staff in grades 4 and above.  Junior staff who have previously completed the Junior Secretarial Skills Programme or staff who have been with Queen's for 10 years, can also be considered for the Senior Secretarial Skills Programme.  The aim of this course is to assist experienced secretarial staff gain further knowledge, skills and confidence to provide a professional secretarial service to senior managers.

Details of the programme dates and times are included in the application forms.  Both programmes run twice this year.  Staff must choose which of the programme dates they will attend.  Because of room sizes, staff will not usually be able to move from one programme to another.

Applications

The programmes will require commitment from participants and their managers as participants will need time to attend all sessions to gain a 'completion certificate'.  Each programme will be limited to 14 particpants.  Please do not take up a place unless you fully intend to complete the programme as you may be preventing another member of staff from being given a place.
