Information Services is keen to offer greater flexibility with computing!
Staff and students can now work on their computers, at a time and place which is convenient to them, whether this be from home, in the office or in a breakout area on campus.
Wireless networks areas are located throughout the campus enabling staff and students to connect to the Internet, via their notebook computer (laptop), mobile phone or personal desktop assistant (pda) to check their email, module resources etc.
To promote flexible computing, a new Notebook (Laptop) Purchase Scheme has been introduced, which will give staff and students the opportunity to purchase high specification notebooks at discount prices, from the University’s computer suppliers. It is also possible to borrow a notebook computer on campus.
