Computing, Copying and Printing
Queen's staff and students can log on to PC workstations in all of the libraries using their Queen's ID and password to access the Queen's online resources.
Associate members of the Library can log on to the PCs using their own ID and password to access a more limited range of online resources.
A number of laptops are available for loan to Queen's staff and students in The McClay Library, Medical Library and Biomedical Library. Laptops can also be borrowed by HSC members of the library in the Medical Library and Biomedical Library.
Wireless internet access is possible throughout the library buildings. Queen's uses a secure network, so you will need to download access software before you get connected. Ask at the IT Service Desk on the ground floor of The McClay Library if you have any problems with network connections.
Computing Assistants may also be available to help you get the best from the University's computing facilities.
Copying, Printing and Scanning
There are Multifunctional Devices (MFDs) available in all of the libraries. These allow you to photocopy, print and scan material.
You can print from your PC or wireless laptop to any of the MFDs in the Student Computer Areas including the libraries.

Detailed guidance on copyright law is available here. Most photocopying for members of the University is covered by Library Privilege. This applies when you need the photocopy for your private study and research, and for a non-commercial purpose.
There is also A Guide to Commercial Copying.
