Dr. Dermot Leonard
Dermot leads the Business Alliance team within Research and Enterprise, which has been set up to help establish and develop research partnerships with businesses and other important organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors. In this role, Dermot draws on the experience he has gained from several years working at the interface between academic and commercial research, most recently at the University of Cambridge, where he was involved in managing collaborations with some of the world’s largest companies.
Dermot’s own research focussed on medical polymers, and he holds a PhD in Biomaterials and an MEng in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, both awarded by Queen’s.
