Developing a Collaboration
Queen’s has an excellent track record of engaging with non-academic partners to maximise the impact of our research. The Research and Enterprise Directorate can provide various types of support for staff seeking to develop collaborative partnerships.
What types of collaboration are possible?
Queen’s collaborates with a wide range of non-academic partners including small and medium enterprises, large multinational companies, government bodies, and charitable organisations. These collaborations can take the form of sponsored studentships, inward and outward secondments, or focussed research programmes. In all cases the Research and Enterprise Directorate is able to provide support and advice on finding partners, building and managing the relationship, and accessing funding to maintain the collaboration.
What support is available?
The Research and Enterprise Directorate can provide support in:
- Identifying and engaging new partners
- Accessing funding schemes for the collaboration
- Negotiating and implementing the necessary contracts
- Managing and maintaining the collaboration
