How do I add new activities and impacts to my Pure records?

Research activities are recorded in Pure to highlight the impact of Queen's Research. Where possible measures of esteem from the legacy ‘My Research Profile’ system where imported into Pure.

On your ‘Personal overview’ page, you can add new information to your Activity and Impact fields by clicking on the ‘Add new’ (green) button at the top right corner of the page.

Add New button

If adding new research activities, click on ‘Activity’ on the left side bar and then select the type of activity in the middle of the page. Hover over your chosen template in the right side of the page and click ‘Choose’. Fill in as much information as possible - items marked with a red asterisk (*) must be completed.

Impact is also recorded in separate category in Pure. To add Impact, click on the ‘Add new’ (green) button on your ‘Personal overview’ page. Click on ‘Impact’ on the left side bar. Fill in as much information as possible - items marked with a red asterisk (*) must be completed. Note that the information collected here is NOT the Impact returned to REF. It is collected to help identify candidates for REF and if chosen help complete the REF template.

If new content has been added into Pure by another user but is associated with your name, you will receive an email in your Pure ‘My messages’ inbox to state that the new research output, activity or impact  has been created in your name (in team based research, this will avoid other individuals having to input the same information).

You can also add new content by hovering over one of the relevant menu items (Research output, Activities and Impacts) on the left hand column of your Personal Overview page and clicking on the ‘+’ icon. New information cannot be added to the Projects and Applications / Funding fields as this data is sourced directly from HR, QFIS and QSIS systems.
