Childcare Services at Queen’s are registered with the Belfast Health and Social Services Trust, Early Years Team, Knockbracken Healthcare Park, Saintfield Road, Belfast.
The Crèches cater for 98 children aged 0-4 and the Out of School Club is registered for 32 primary school aged children. The selection committee meets on an annual basis (April/May) to allocate childcare places for the forthcoming year.
Selection criteria for the Crèche are as follows:
- By application – must be full-time student or staff member of Queen's University Belfast.
- Verify Student/Staff status with the University.
- Availability of places in each unit (i.e. Nursery, Toddler Room etc.).
- Age of child.
- Date application received.
- Sibling of a child currently attending.
- Personal circumstances (i.e. family support, year of study).
Selection criteria for Out of School Club are as follows:
- By application - must be student or staff member of Queen's University Belfast.
- Verify Student/Staff status with the University.
- All children attending Out of School Club must be Primary School age.
- Priority will be given to children applying for a full week.
- Sibling of a child currently attending.
- A child currently attending Queen's Crèche wishing to transfer to Out of School Club on admission to Primary School.
- Date application received per primary school (the number of seats in each car collecting children per school will determine how many children can be collected from each school site).
A false statement will result in the withdrawal of a Childcare place. Any changes of circumstance that occur throughout the year MUST be reported to the Childcare Management Team.
