Professionalism in Computing
The Professionalism in Computing scheme provides first and second year computing students with the opportunity to enhance their core employability skills and overall levels of professionalism. The scheme aims to more fully prepare students for their placement and the world of professional employment thereafter.
A range of companies (including Deloitte, Kainos, Citi, Liberty IT, etc.) will offer activities such as workshops, lectures, consultancy advice, etc. The activities will be aligned with first and second year computing modules and will provide opportunity to develop and enhance skills through practical application. A strong emphasis will be placed on developing and improving team working skills.
While the scheme is open to all students, to be judged eligible for the award, a student must have demonstrated a high level of commitment over the year and have clearly demonstrated core employability and professionalism skills - as evidenced through their reflective report and through employer evaluation of their work.
