QuPlayers Performances (Making Theatre)
QuPlayer (The Drama Society at Queen's) encourage live theatre by students on Queen's Campus. We hope to have a wide range of performances throughout the entire academic year. Therefore all theatre styles are welcome. Performances may vary from the conventional stage play, to street theatre, rehearsed readings, radio plays and even short films etc. Participation in a QuPlayers production does not have to be limited to an acting role however, we require student Directors, Stage Managers, Assistant Directors and students who wish to be in charge of the more technical roles also. These include Lighting deign, Sound, Set design etc. We are always very keen to encourage new writing also.
QuPlayers encourage live theatre by students on Queen's Campus. We also hope to educate students who have an interest in the theatre in all aspects of performance. This may range from Shakespeare, speaking in verse to learning the basics of the technial aspects of theatre, e.g. lighting and sound design. We also encourage new writing and would therefore hope to have writers hold workshops for creative writing or scriptwriting etc. As we are well aware that some students wish to go into a career in teaching, we also look forward to hosting workshops for those interested in whatever career path Drama or the Theatre have to offer by leading industry professionals.
