Staff Visits to Support Student Placements
Under the Erasmus Programme staff can apply for funding to make a visit to a partner university or host organisation/enterprise for the purpose of supporting students on Erasmus study or work placements.
Eligible Activities
- Meeting/monitoring Queen’s students on placement
- Preparing for Queen’s students who will undertake placements in the future
An allocation has been made to Queen's by the UK Erasmus National Agency for this activity. As funds are limited, first priority will be given to staff visiting students actually undertaking placements this year.
The offer of funding is open to staff who have already undertaken such a visit this academic year since 1 July 2011, and to those who intend to do so during the year. Visits must be completed by 31 July 2012.
Eligibility
To be eligible for Erasmus funding, a teacher must be employed at Queen's. Staff of all nationalities are eligible.
Funding
Funding is intended to be only a contribution towards costs. Grants paid to individual staff members must be based on receipted expenditure and subject to the availability of funds. Any audit of such claims will examine the detail of receipts supporting the claim. The average amount per individual is between €500 and €600. It is therefore important for staff to note that it is likely that they will have to seek the balance from their Schools. All claims for reimbursement, which should indicate the visit outcomes, must be submitted by 6 July 2012.
Evidence/Record Keeping
The Exchange and Study Abroad team (Careers, Employability and Skills) is required to obtain the following financial evidence to support the payments for each visit to the National Agency in case of audit. Please download the following forms for completion and submission to the Exchange and Study Abroad team by 6 July 2012:
- Staff Expenses Claim Form (complete BLUE sections only)
- Reimbursement form (receipts of expenditure or equivalent must be submitted to support claims)
