Charity and Development Work
Working in the charitable and not-for-profit sector can be both a challenging and deeply rewarding career choice for graduates. There is a vast number of charitable organisations offering a great diversity of job roles. Some graduates choose to work in UK-based charities, others work in a more international capacity for charities and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations) across the globe. Competition for the better job roles can be fierce. Volunteering is a key way of gaining experience in the not-for-profit sector. This can be undertaken part time as a student and is a good starting point to fostering a long term paid career in this sector.
Further information on types of job can be found on Prospects Explore Types of Job and Gradireland Career Sectors.
