Culture, Arts and Media

This is a diverse sector incorporating performing arts, cultural heritage, broadcasting, journalism, music and film among others. Working in this sector tends to involve a more fluid approach to the traditional 9-5 working week with work being part time, fixed contract, seasonal and often self-employed.  Key to this industry is government funding to the arts, which it relies heavily upon. The sector can be somewhat London-centric but those truly passionate about carving out an career in this sector will succeed with determination and experience, often gained in a voluntary capacity initially.

Further information on types of job can be found on Prospects Explore Types of Job and Gradireland Career Sectors.
