One to One Guidance

One to One Help at the Student Guidance Centre

We can offer different kinds of support depending on your needs - feel free to use us as often as you need.

Type of help	When available	How to access
Information queries Looking for careers information? Staff in the Student Guidance Centre can help you or refer you to a careers adviser.	During opening hours, Monday to Friday 9.00am–5.00pm	Careers staff are available in the Careers information area in the Student Guidance Centre Monday to Friday 11am and 3pm
Duty Adviser If you have a quick query or need help with a CV or application form call in to see the Duty Adviser. Consultations last around 15-20 minutes	During opening hours, Monday to Friday 10.30am-4.30pm	No appointment necessary – just call in. The service is operated on a ‘first-come first-served’ basis
Guidance interview For a more in-depth discussion book to see the Careers Adviser linked to your School. Guidance interviews last for around 45 minutes and enable you to discuss your ideas and plans in detail. Available to current students and QUB graduates within 2 years of completing their course.	During opening hours, Monday to Friday 9.00am–5.00pm	Book at reception in the Student Guidance Centre or telephone 028 9097 2727
Group appointments If you and some friends need the same careers-related help get in touch with us to arrange to meet your Careers Adviser to talk about it.	During opening hours, Monday to Friday 9.00am–5.00pm	In the first instance email: careers@qub.ac.uk with names, degree subjects, levels and a brief outline of what you’d like to discuss.
E-guidance Contact an Adviser directly by e-mail with your quick guidance or information query	Available through our website – your Adviser will respond within 5 working days	Click here to register
