Full-time Undergraduate Tuition Fees

Students, who normally live in Northern Ireland, will be charged tuition fees of £3,925 for full time undergraduate programmes.

Students who normally live in England, Scotland and Wales (GB Students), will be charged tuition fees of £9,000 for full time undergraduate programmes.

Students, who normally live in the Republic of Ireland or other non-UK EU countries, will be charged tuition fees of £3,925 for full time undergraduate programmes.

Students, who normally live in the Islands, will be charged tuition fees of £9,000 for full time undergraduate programmes. For undergraduate programmes that contain pre-clinical elements a fee of £9,000 will be charged and for undergraduate programmes that contain Clinical elements a fee is still to be confirmed.

A fee of £760 will be charged for sandwich-year placements.


Students will be required to complete the University's enrolment and registration process at the start of the academic year. This process will be undertaken via the enrolment and registration wizard.

Students, whose personal contribution is £250 or less, will be required to pay in full at enrolment and registration.

Tuition Fee Payment Options


The payment arrangements at enrolment and registration are outlined below. Students should ensure that they have made the necessary payment arrangements in advance of enrolment and registration.

Students whose personal contribution is £250 or less, will be required to pay in full on enrolment

The table below provides a summary of the payment options available to Undergraduate students, with the exception of International (non-EU) Undergraduate students.

Apply for a tuition fee loan to the SLC (Defer Fees)

Students can apply to SLC for a tuition fee loan, up to their maximum tuition fee liability.

Pay tuition fees in full at enrolment

Tuition fees can be paid online via a student's Qsis Account, by cheque, credit/debit card or bank transfer.

Direct Debit

Minimum payment of 25% of calculated tuition fees at enrolment and registration, followed by 3 further bi-monthly payments at the end of November, January and March.

Exam only and thesis only charges cannot be paid by Direct Debit.

Combination

SLC/Sponsor/Balance Payable in full at enrolment and registration.

Sponsor

Evidence of sponsorship or scholarship from a government or other
official organisation, must be provided at enrolment and registration.

The overarching principle, regarding the payment of tuition fees, and other associated charges, is that the student remains liable for the payment.  If the student loan or sponsorship arrangements do not subsequently provide funding, the student will be required to pay all fees and charges personally.

Applying for a Tuition Fee Loan from the SLC

When a full-time student has applied for a university course he/she can apply to his/her local Education Authority for a tuition fee loan and/or maintenance loan. A single application form is used for applying for a tuition fee loan, maintenance loan and Government maintenance grants. Students first registering in 2016-17 should complete a PN1 form (this includes students studying on a PGCE course and a number of specifically designated PGT courses) Returning students who registered prior to 2016-17, should complete a PR1 form.

A student does not need to wait until a firm offer of a university place has have received. Application forms are available from March 2016. A student can contact his/ Education Authority, for further information

Students undertaking Part-time Degree Courses

This section refers to Students who commence study on an approved part-time program, rather than revert to part-time, having commenced originally on a full-time program.

Part-time students are not eligible to apply for tuition fee loans, with the exception of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) students and those who change from full-time to part-time study, temporarily. The latter category should contact their local Education and Library Board to check if they are eligible to apply for a tuition fee loan.

The part-time modular fee is £260, for the academic year 2016-17, based on a standard CATS point module (20 CATS).

CATS is an acronym for the Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme. This is a system which gives credit for each individual course unit that is completed successfully.

Tuition Fee Liability for Full-time Undergaduate Student Withdrawals

The date when a student withdraws will affect the level of tuition fees which may be refunded and it will also affect a student's maintenance and tuition loan.  Adjustments to tuition fees are calculated with reference to the date of a student's withdrawal from the University, not the last date of attendance. The table below demonstrates how tuition fees are calculated in respect of withdrawals;
