Motivation and Wellbeing

  1. Commit to making the change: developing good study habits takes a concerted effort over time, not just for one day. Make the commitment and try your best to stick to it.
  2. Write everything down: not only will this help you stay organised, having a list of tasks will help you to stay motivated. You will be encouraged by your progress as you tick off the tasks.
  3. Exercise and eat healthy: avoid bad eating habits and try to make time to get some exercise – it will make you feel better in the long run!
  4. Prove to other people that you can do it: family, friends, and teachers all want you to succeed – use this to help keep you motivated along the way.
  5. Find a study buddy or start a study group: whether you like to work alone or in a crowded room, it helps to talk through your ideas with others; it may also be encouraging to know others are in a similar situation.
  6. View your journey as an adventure: you don’t have to be the perfect student, so aim for realistic achievements so that you can aim for steady improvement along the way.
  7. Reward yourself: allow yourself a treat for achieving any goals or objectives.
  8. Release: let go of any mistakes, worries, or regrets, and concentrate on making positive changes.
