East China Institute of Technology appoints
ISEP staff as honorary professors

Dr Brendan Murtagh and Dr Stephen Mc Kay were invited to the East China Institute of Technology (ECIT) in Fuzhou, Jiangxi Province in January 2008. Collaborative research has been ongoing for two years with Dr Pinghui Liu of ECIT, on comparative planning and development between the European Union and the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The purpose of the visit was to make presentations on work completed to date and to foster future research linkages.

Both Dr Murtagh and Dr McKay were appointed honorary professors of the University; and, work has already commenced on a new project investigating linkages between the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and mainland PRC ten years subsequent to re-annexation.
