Graduating gymnast excels at Queen’s
Celebrating success at Queen’s today will be Belfast student, Jill Quigley who has secured employment with global employer, Zurich General Insurance.
A gymnast who has been coaching gymnastics since she was 16, Jill continued her coaching work with 5-12 year olds, and a 6-7yrs development squad, while studying for her degree. Her work with this group included working with a disability project called ‘I'm in’ in which she was involved with gymnastic clinics for young people with special needs.
Jill also tutored maths to GCSE, AS and A-level exam students during her time at Queen’s.
Ahead of graduation, Jill said: “My time at Queen’s has been very busy but thoroughly enjoyable, and I was delighted I was able to secure both my placement, and my future employment, with a globally recognised employer. This was helped by my having access to over 200 international work placement and study programmes across the globe through the University.”
Jill will join the 95% of Queen’s students who are in employment or further study six months after graduating, when she takes up employment with Zurich in Dublin in 2017, after taking time out to travel.
Jill’s father and grandmother will join her at her graduation to help her celebrate.
