The Science Shop


The Northern Ireland Science Shop is a link between the universities and the community. Community and voluntary groups often require specialist skills to develop their work.  The Science Shop can put these groups in touch with students who might be able to work with them.

ARK – Social and Political Archive


The ARK Research Centre provides support to organisations and individuals who wish to carry out analyses of survey datasets, but do not have the resources, expertise or personnel to undertake such analyses themselves.

  1. In 2006 ARK obtained an ESRC Large Grant (£3.5m) over 5 years that enables us to provide...
  2. 6 seminars per year held at NICVA – one later today on ‘Informal Caring’
  3. Lay friendly Research Updates on key issues
  4. ‘Pro bono’ research methods training course for voluntary sector organisations
  5. Technical support for individuals or organisations unable to undertake research work themselves
