Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Awareness
Project Description
This group undertakes research around FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) with the objective to reduce the levels of death and disability in babies born with FAS throughout Northern Ireland. Surveys are conducted amongst the role-players to assess the level of awareness around FAS in Northern Ireland. Strategies are designed and implemented in order to raise the level of FAS awareness. Their educational programme provides a forum which enables networking amongst health professionals and provides a support service for families who have experienced the birth of a FAS baby.
