Supporting Nursing Education in Uganda
Project Description
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is supporting nurse education and nursing in Uganda. A focus of the community outreach is to place nursing students in the International Hospital Kampala and the remote Hospital of Kuwiko and surrounding community for their elective clinical placement. In this way both Queen's nursing students and the population of Kampala and Kuwiko will benefit.
The second focus is on nurse education. Queens nurse teachers/lecturers will support nurse education by visits and by providing online/videoconferencing classes.
The third focus of the community outreach in Uganda surrounds international aid. The School of Nursing and Midwifery collected and donated a vanload of high quality commodities such as clothing, toiletries medical supplies and nursing textbooks.
