Sound Live Project, The Prince's Trust
Project Description
Soundlive, a Prince's Trust project, is six day residential music course targeted at up to thirty disadvantaged young people who want to make a future in music. Queen's have partnered the the Trust in this project since 1999. The week is about personal development and musical creativity and includes tuition on each individuals chosen instrument, inputs on the music business, song writing, and future music education options. Each young person will have been helped to devise a personal action plan by the end of the week. Musical influences range from Traditional to Punk and include Heavy Metal ,Classical and Rock. The young musicians form bands and perform their work live at a special celebration concert, hosted by the University, on the Friday night in the Whitla Hall.
