Responsibilities of PhD Supervisors
There are responsibilities for Supervisors in charge of PhD students which are clearly stated in the Notes of Guidance for Supervisors . You will find these and other useful information, including PhD Regulations, MPhil Regulations and information for Examiners, under the Institutional Code of Practice for Research Degree Programmes
Supervisors should ensure students complete a yearly Progress Report that should be submited in July.

Special Research Studentships
Once an academic has secured funding from a source, a special research scholarship application form must be completed and returned to the Finance Office, either Research Support Office or Management Accounts depending on the project being used.

Fee Scholarship Scheme
The Fee Scholarship Scheme has now ended. Formerly the scheme provided financial support to enable the international fee element of postgraduate research funding to be met from university funds in certain circumstances. Specifically, this was where external funding had been secured by the School to cover the home fees and stipend for a research student, but the School was unable to recruit a home student.
