In order to get the most from your skills development you need to be involved in an ongoing cycle of personal development planning (PDP). This involves taking the time to reflect on your skills, identify personal strengths, weaknesses and areas for development, plan your progression and record your development. This should be conducted with guidance from your supervisor who will help you to plan the courses and other development activity that will most benefit you.
The Queen’s University Postgraduate Research Student Personal Development Planner will support you to identify your development needs and set time-lines. The Planner has been created using the skills and behaviours within the Researcher Development Framework.
Vitae has created an on-line personal development planning tool using the Researcher Development Framework and you can access it here.
