The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences incorporates a diverse range of postgraduate taught programmes.
These range from the traditional humanities and social science subjects (such as English, Languages, History, Politics, Sociology, Anthropology) through Management subjects (Accounting, Economics, Finance) to new areas in the Creative Arts (Music Technology, Drama, Film, Creative Writing), Political and International topics, and a range of applied professional subjects (Law, Education, Social Work).
The Faculty has a strong research profile, as demonstrated by excellent results in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), which drives our teaching programmes, giving them a cutting edge.
The Institute for Collaborative Research in the Humanities and the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation and Social Justice will seek to enhance the world-class research already underway in these areas, and strengthen postgraduate study across these disciplines.
