Why did you decide to study at Queen’s University?
I had heard a lot of praise for Queen’s from both past and present students, particularly about the fantastic atmosphere around the University. Not to mention I have had my eyes set on Queen’s for quite a few years!
Why did you choose your course? Which aspects are you enjoying most?
I have had a love of science for many years now; in fact I had decided I wanted to go into science back in primary school! I can tell you now that I am delighted with my experience so far and cannot wait to see more of this wonderful subject! I’m particularly enjoying the chemistry aspect of the course.
What were your first impressions of Queen’s when you started?
The vibrant, multi-cultured atmosphere; I found it a real eye-opener as to just how vast this world is and just how little I know! It’s fantastic that I have been given the opportunity to learn more about this world and I am grateful that Queen’s provides it.
What do you do outside of your studies?
I am a member of the Caving Club which has allowed me to meet many friendly people and go to the PEC for training on how to climb up and down walls without any footholds using an SRT kit. I am thoroughly enjoying this experience and I love going away at weekends for caving field trips.
What advice would you give students thinking about studying at Queen’s?
Enjoy yourself and live life to the full. Nothing else needs to be said! You’ll have the time of your life and will meet many fantastic friends! Not to mention you’ll find yourself surrounded by helpful staff who actually encourage you to ask if you’re unsure. The whole experience may seem daunting at first, but once you’ve settled in... well get ready, you’re about to have some of the best times of your life!
