Why did you decide to study at Queen’s University?
The University has an excellent reputation and high academic rating compared with other universities across the globe. Therefore, not only is it my local university but this is an added bonus as I can study in a fantastic establishment and still have the comforts of home!
Why did you choose your course? Which aspects are you enjoying most?
I chose to do a degree in Business Economics because I am interested in the world of management and I am business minded! Given the current economic situation, this degree will hopefully make me employable in the future.
I am enjoying the accounting modules so far as I feel it is very relevant and fascinating. Also the applied economics module helps me to understand what is going on in the world around me!
What were your first impressions of Queen’s when you started?
The main Lanyon building is amazing. I love the atmosphere and feel very proud that I get to walk through the main gates.
The students and staff were very friendly and helpful which allowed me to settle in quickly.
What do you do outside of your studies?
I am a member of the squash club at the PEC and am so far really enjoying it. The facilities are so modern and the memberships are affordable for students. The coaches and other team members are friendly and encouraging too.
What advice would you give students thinking about studying at Queen’s?
I would say do not hesitate to put Queen’s University as your ‘firm’ choice! Staff are always willing to help and the students are all so friendly.
Queen’s offers so much for new students, with over 170 different clubs and societies to choose from. Absolutely spoilt for choice!
For me personally, it is the feeling of pride and accomplishment that I got when I was accepted into Queen’s. It is definitely an achievement and a reward for your hard work!
